“Three Daffodils” – original watercolor still life of flowers

On a particularly hard Mother’s Day, my friend Kaylee, gave me the space to grieve as deeply as I needed. I still remember her text, “You can cry as much as you need in the space I’m holding over here for you.” Then she sent a picture of a cluster of daffodils she had seen on her walk that day. “I’m hoping they fill the sadness with a drop of joy.” When I saw the picture, I knew I would be painting these flowers. Yellow daffodils are a symbol of strength and overcoming obstacles.
