A beautiful oak grew next to the Bedford Village Inn. I had to call to get permission and make an appointment to plein air (outdoor paint) on their property. The day arrived and I was thinking I’d paint the huge oak out in front. But, I ended up under an arbor painting this fountain.
Under the knotted wisteria, I worked on capturing the play of water. In my plein air, I had dappled light across my canvas. You can see it in the pictures. It reminded me of a strobe light, but gentler and slower. I took these “notes” home and painted this final piece in my studio.
This painting is on display in a gallery in Milford, NH. Please allow extra time (1 week) for retrieval before shipping.
