Jacaranda Snow

I grew up in southern California and spent many weekends with my grandmother walking the sidewalks when these jacaranda trees burst in bloom. Their scent and color were all the more electrifying on grey days. Perhaps another reason I prefer grey days to sunny ones. The streets would be transformed into a royal carpet of lavender, we almost didn’t want to step on them. But we marched along like queens. Southern California, Spring 2020.
