The frozen Squamscott River, called the Exeter River until it pours into this town is in the foreground. This river never totally freezes as the tide pushes it up and down too often. However, this view is one I like to paint in any season. The Town Hall and old Exeter downtown buildings make a wonderful backdrop to the winter’s frosting.
