“Will and Aviva’s Wedding Day” – Jerusalem, Israel, Covid Art

“My fiancé and I lived on opposite sides of the same neighborhood in Jerusalem. Having met a few months before COVID first struck, we fell in love while strict lockdowns were put in place.

Every decision regarding how governments handled the COVID situation resulted in increased social division. Regulations were very complex, changing regularly, so couples either had micro weddings or delayed their ceremonies effectively putting their life plans on hold. It was in this climate that we boldly chose to hold an outdoor wedding ceremony. This allowed us to invite a wide spectrum of our friends and use technology to invoke family that could not travel. It was a beautiful reminder that though there are many different opinions, we can all come together and celebrate big life events.

The location is the Old City of Jerusalem. This was just after our ceremony. We were granted roof top access to have some privacy before rejoining our guests for the celebration.”
